Kora: Tibet and the Trail of Truth

One of the last documentaries to be shot inside Tibet before the 2008 uprising. The story of two brothers' journey to the holiest mountain in the world and how they witnessed the massive changes in an entire culture as they wrestled with the changes inside themselves. Recent News About Schreiner Productions!

August 12, 2008: Delcam, a machine software maker with headquarters in Birmingham UK and seventy offices worldwide, becomes out newest client! Their campaign of presenting client testimonial videos, all in HD-PAL (European TV format), takes Schreiner Productions all over the U.S.

June 8, 2008: We return to Salt Lake after two weeks of shooting an original video/music project in Utah's incredible southern national parks and wilderness. Survived 90-degree heat, snow, rain, dust and wind while our new Panasonic HPX500 HD camera performed flawlessly using P2 memory cards and external drives to store the 500 GB of video.

May 30, 2008: Schreiner Productions is named to TurnHere Inc.'s "Videographers Hall of Fame" for outstanding work in producing web commericals for the on-line Yellow Pages.

April 29-30, 2008: My video to Electric Light Orchestra's song "Mr. Blue Sky" is featured at the Salt Lake Sustainable Building Conference attended by hundreds of environmental design experts from across the country.

February 21, 2008: High definition video begins at Schreiner Productions with the arrival of full, 1080i production equipment, led by the new Panasonic HVX500 camera which records on the totally-recyclable and environmentally-friendly P2 card system!

February 3, 2008: My newest documentary "Kora: Tibet and the Trail of Truth" airs on TVTibet in Portland, Oregon.

February 1, 2008: I appear in an article published in Electronic House magazine about his solar-powered studio and house and use of a Gridpoint energy management unit.

January 27, 2008: The Salt Lake Sustainable Building Conference chooses Schreiner Productions to produce a video for the annual session on April 28, 2008.

January 9, 2008: Schreiner Productions creates the first website for Utah Clean Air Alliance, a coalition of environmental groups joining forces to fight air pollution and associated illnesses.

November 20, 2007: Schreiner Productions moves into the world of high definition video with acquisitions of software and hardware to begin production in HD!

November 19, 2007: Electronic House magazine interviews me about my solar-powered video studio and Gridpoint who makes the management system that regulates all renewable, grid and surplus energy productions. Article to be published in February, 2008 edition.

November 14, 2007: "Kora: Tibet and the Trail of Truth" makes its on-line premiere on Brightcove as an episodic series. Check it out!

November 8, 2007: Attend first UCAN (Utah Clean Air Now) summit at Salt Lake City Hall, organizing environmental and other groups to develop campaign for new anti-pollution initiatives by the governor, state legislature and businesses. Heading the effort are Utah Moms for Clean Air and Physicians for a Healthy Environment.

November 2, 2007: TurnHere Internet Video of Emeryville CA contracts with Schreiner Productions to make videos for CitySearch and Yellow Pages web clients.

October 22, 2007: Long-running environmental blog Schreiner's Media Landscape moves to schreinervideo.com with improvements in video, interactivity and information.

October 6, 2007: Host Utah Solar Tour by opening solar-powered facility to visitors from all over the state. Take over management of Utah Solar Energy Association website.

August 28, 2007: Begin helping Utah Clean Energy organize 2007 Utah Solar Tour on October 6 producing videos, graphics, web designs and other marketing and promotional needs.

August 12, 2007: Schreiner Productions is certified by the nation's leading eco-products and services organization, Co-op America, to be listed in its directory of environmentally-friendly and sustainable businesses "The National Green Pages."

July 28, 2007: "Kora: Tibet and the Trail of Truth" premieres at the Action on Film Festival in Long Beach, California. About 15 people attend the world debut and I answer questions following the show. We didn't win the Best Documentary Cinematography award but it was the most gratifying moment of my documentary career thus far.

July 9, 2007: "Kora: Tibet and the Trail of Truth" is nominated for Best Documentary Cinematography by the Action on Film International Festival July 27-29, 2007 in Long Beach, California. Both I and my brother Wayne, executive producer and organizer of trip to Tibet and China, will attend.

June 5, 2007: Attended first meeting of Utah Solar Energy Association. Invited to show Solarius Precarious, my own solar power system, on the group's annual statewide tour in October. Discussed solar, solar water and geothermal energy with the state's leaders in renewable energy development.

June 2, 2007: Complete a successful and fascinating trip to Iceland. Shot, edited and blogged from this north Atlantic island nation about whales, glaciers, geothermal energy, volcanoes and other elements that make this country so incredible and interesting. Iceland is the most energy-efficient nation in the world and their development of sustainable technologies is becoming a blueprint for how the world can fight human-induced climate change.
