Obama’s Shining Green City on the Hill

Word is out that President Obama will not only reverse many of the demented and destructive anti-environmental policies instituted by the Bush Regime but will usher in a new era of respect for the Earth and development of Earth-friendly technologies like renewable energy. Obama- maybe more than even Al Gore- apparently understands how encouraging, not fighting, the conversion of America’s energy systems from non-sustainable fossil fuels like oil and coal to sustainable, non-polluting sources like solar, wind, geothermal and biomass will help the economy and the Earth at the same time.

Obama will have a lot of chances to show how green he really is, starting with reversing the plan to relax regulations for building coal-burning power plants near national parks. It’s just one of the uncountable known and unknown assaults on our health and environment by the outgoing Bush Fascist Clown Squad.

What a refreshing change. Even if it doesn’t happen during his administration, Obama and the Democrat-ruled Congress at least give America hope that we can make the necessary changes to reestablish our energy independence and stop impoverishing our citizens while enriching the already-wealthy-beyond-all-reason energy conglomerates.
