Schreiner Productions Finally on Facebook: Now, Everybody, Do Something Interesting- Please?

Filed under: Environment, Internet, Schreiner Productions, media — Ken Schreiner @ 8:53 am

I’ve tried other social networking sites and they really didn’t do anything for me (they shall remain unidentified here). It was especially aggravating because they wouldn’t let me promote my business, even when I explained it was environmentally-responsible, gave special discounts to environmental groups, and, after all, it was an environmental social network. I dropped out of all them except LinkedIn which is truly helpful in both promoting one’s business, career and reuniting with old colleagues.

Now I’m on Facebook and it appears to be less business oriented and more socially oriented. The question is “do people really care what I think today?” I barely care about most of the stuff I think about. And I’m not sure I want to tell the world where I’m traveling or where I’m staying right now. It’s amazing to read some of the stuff people write on Facebook assuming that it’s either interesting, entertaining or something of value. About 99.9% of it isn’t.

But maybe through writing on Facebook, we all will eventually realize how uninteresting and unproductive most of our lives are and do something about it. Writing on-line certainly has been an inspiration to me to do things that are worth writing about.
