For the first five years of writing this blog all I got was angrier. OK, once I moved it over to my website, all those hits registered to my company website http://schreinervideo.com which pushed me up the search rankings and increased my business. That made me happy. In fact, business is so good I’m happy almost all the time. Except when I write this blog. Then I get angry again.
I’ve always believed that ignorance is bliss. Ignorance is also extremely dangerous. It can get you killed, ripped off, or lead to a career in TV news. After watching a good chunk of the American public slip deeper into self- and Fox News-imposed stupidity, I’ve come to the conclusion that ignorance is a state that is best used sparingly. When you really need it, a little ignorance goes a long way.
Right now, I’m paying almost total attention to my business, our home improvement project, and generally enjoying my life. I figure if another George W. Bush or other involuntarily ignorant leader rises to power, or I cross paths with one of his unapologetic, sociopathic followers, I can snap back into my angry/intelligent mode. Such as it is.
Could be I was just tired after twenty years of being sort of angry at the demise of independent American news media and eight years of being really angry at our stupid president and what he and his minions did to the country. But these days, I’m not tired or angry anymore. Which is probably why I’m writing about my business, Blu-Ray players, and sports.
But we saw how easy it is to let idiots creep into our lives and control them if we’re TOO happy. Believe me, after 55 years, I know I will never be THAT happy- or ignorant.
