As my business grows, I have less time to not only write but to even get angry about the stuff that inspired the inception of this blog in 2005. I’m confident the Obama administration and federal government have done just about everything they can to correct the eight years of radical right-wing mismanagement. So there’s nothing there tripping my trigger. Fox News and their pitchman-pundits don’t even get me riled anymore, even though the revelation that Glenn Beck has been preaching apocalypse because of his night job as mouthpiece for the gold industry got my attention. Sarah Palin? So 2008. NBC? Weren’t they just sold a few years ago already.
I know my THOUSANDS of readers will be disappointed but I’m going to spend most of this space from now on writing about the video industry, the life of an independent producer/businessman and putting up a lot more videos and other visual amusements. For those of you who’ve read this for the last four years, you know I’ve gone through several such spasms. But this time it’s not because I’m bored, obsessed or just feeling mouthy.
One thing I’ve learned in the past six years of being my own boss is that self-promotion is crucial. It’s what got my where I am now- which is the best place I’ve ever been in my life and getting better. But I want more of this: not more TV news, Rush Limbaughs, reality shows. And whenever I write something about them, I’m taking time away from promoting myself and actually making them more popular and stronger. Fortunately, the corporate media industry has now become competition for me. But you won’t hear them criticizing and drawing attention to me.
So in the interest of full disclosure, I don’t blame you if you stop reading this because it’s not going to be what you’ve come to expect- whatever that is. And there won’t be as much of it either. But I hope you keep checking in to read my blatherings, watch what I and my fellow entreproducers are up to, and getting the word on the street- not about others but about me, my business and the art and science that’s defined my life and the society of which we are all enthusiastic and active members. I also plan on doing more on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook which have become invaluable promotional and news organs. Thanks again for everything!
