China Quake Reminds Utah of Nuclear Power’s Hazards
I hope the legislators and lobbyists relentlessly pushing for nuclear power in Utah are following the situation in China. The plants there are being checked for damage and potential leaks after the major earthquake this week. Lest we forget, Utah is prime earthquake territory. Unless proponents can guarantee there won’t be a big earthquake in Utah ever- and even the experts say it’s a matter of when not if- why are we still even considering it especially when we have such an abundance of renewable energy?
